Behaviour/Training problems |
An animals behaviour is based on a combination of instinctive/genetic and learned behaviour, therefore every animal and every situation is unique. For this reason it is usually nessessary for me to visit the animal in its natural home environment and to witness the problem behaviour first hand in order to ascertain the best way forward. A home consultation usually last 1.5-2hours. During this time we will together device a strategy or training plan to suit your pet and I will help you to begin implementing this straight away. It is often possible to see an improvement (although sometimes tiny!) in your pets behaviour during my visit but owners must be aware that there is no such thing as a quick fix solution to behavioural issues. Afterall, behaviour problems are often deep routed and complex. Changing your animals behaviour often involves changing the way it thinks and this does not happen overnight. Most behaviour problems can be improved/eradicated but this requires commitment and consistency and patience on the owners part. But training is enjoyable and watching your pet improve is incredibly rewarding. Although most of my clients are dogs, other pets can develop behavioural problems that are difficult to live with. I can help with cats, most small furry animals and birds. The standard charge for an initial home consultation is £45. This includes a write up of the plan developed during the consultation and a full telephone back-up service should you have any questions after the visit. |
