I'm Helen Lambert, an animal behaviourist, trainer,
micro-chipper and all-round animal lover! My
family have owned black labradors throughout my
life, and I recently took on my current dog, an
18month old rescue labrador cross pointer
(Buster). He arrived with a wide range of
behavioural issues. I can often empathise with my
clients and know how difficult it is to deal with
dogs (and other ainmals) who have behavioural
issues. Buster is progressing nicely and settling
in well.
I grew up with access to a farm where I enjoyed
helping out with the milking and more recently
with the lambing duties in spring, which I love! I
worked for 3 years at a local animal rescue centre
in their kennels and cattery. I still visit
occasionally to help with any animals that have
behaviour problems which may be putting off
potential new owners. I currently work full time at
another animal rehoming centre where I deal with
the animals on a daily basis and carry out
behavioural work with the dogs and cats.
I have a BSc(hons) Applied Animal Behaviour and
Training, which I obtained at Bishop Burton
College, University of Hull (2005-2008). The degree
set me up with both the theory and practical skills
required to help people through behavioural
issues regarding their pets.
I have always been interested in animals and their
behaviour. I am now very lucky in having the
qualifications and practical experience to help
others get the joy out of their pets as I do from my
own menagerie.
